I am based in Milan and specialise in fashion still lifes, accessories and jewellery. For Ciesse Duvets I photographed the Fly range for the brand’s website and social media channels, for Jeckerson a series of still lifes dedicated to denim.

With Draw Gioielli and DA.D Manifatture The project was designed for social media profiles: product images that are clear even on small screens, with consistent lighting across all posts.

Every material requires its own lighting. A padded garment needs volume and a surface that stands out, whilst jewellery requires controlled reflections. Before the shoot, we discuss together where the photos will be used, as an image for a product page has different proportions and a different background to one intended for a campaign.

Brief. Please tell me about the product, how many items there are, which channels the photos will be used on, and the timeframe involved. I’ll then draw up a quote and send it to you by email.

Pre-production. We choose backgrounds, surfaces and visual references, then finalise the list of shots for each reference.

Sept. I take photographs in accordance with the agreed list, checking the colour and consistency between each shot.

Post-production and delivery. I select, edit and deliver files in the formats and aspect ratios required by various platforms, from e-commerce to social media.

Do you also do e-commerce work on a white background?

Yes. The photos for the product pages are prepared using the same background, framing and aspect ratios for all items, so that the catalogue maintains a consistent look. We’ll discuss this in the brief, along with the number of items.

Could you also take a photo of the product being worn?

Yes, with models or talent chosen together. Many projects combine still life and fashion shots: you’ll find this section on the pages fashion and lookbooks and social media campaigns.

Do you also make videos of the product?

Yes, short videos for social media and the website, filmed on the same set as the photos when the project requires it. The video work can be found on the commercial videos.
